Satsangi Jeevan is the authorised biography of Swaminarayan. To enable Shatanand Swami to write from His childhood, Swaminarayan had blessed Shatanand Swami with Sanjay Drishti - special power to see the entire past right from His childhood.

These acharyas came from his immediate family after sending representatives to search them out in Uttar Pradesh. Decades after his death, several divisions occurred with different understandings of succession.
